Blog Income Report for January 2020: How I Earned $1,560 This Month

Welcome to my January 2020 blog income report, where I will show you my last month earnings from the blog. It’s time to have a look at the figures for this month, and I will tell you exactly what the business income was and what my travel blog revenue consisted of.

If you are new to blogging, you are probably wondering why I want to publish my 2020 first month blogging income report, as well as show my extra money and ways to make money blogging.

I believe that publishing blog income reports and earnings statistics is very useful for other bloggers. For beginners in this field, 2020 income reports help to understand how much money bloggers make and the ways they can get extra money online.

In my travel blog income report, I describe various ways of earning extra money on a blog that I personally try.

Many people ask why I want to share information about what I’m working on. Some people think this is strange, while other people appreciate that I am frank in what I do. Anyway, I will publish and share my travel blog income reports for three main reasons:

• I want to be useful by showing the positive aspects of blogging and how it can change the life of the author. There are many ways to make money online, and I like to share my story to motivate others to improve their financial situation.
• My travel blog income reports will allow me to look back in the future, learn from my mistakes and see which areas need to be improved.
• Finally, I would like to show the others that there are great possibilities of making extra money online, using legal methods. The average income from blogging on the Internet is high, and often bloggers earn tens of thousands of dollars per month.

The above are just a few reasons why I’m going to publish my first travel blog income report.

If not other bloggers publishing their blog monthly income reports, I am not sure if I would ever try blogging or not.

I like to show others that they have absolutely no need to hate their job and their life. In 2020, everyone can change his life and make extra money on the Internet in different ways in order to truly enjoy their lives. I am not saying that you should LOVE your work, but your work should at least allow you do what you like to enjoy your life (spending time with your loved ones, traveling, etc.).

How I Made Money Blogging in January 2020 – My Travel Blog Income Report

Since last year, subscribers have started sending me questions about making extra money online:

How much money can you earn on a blog? How do blogs make money? How to make money online? How do blogs generate income? How to start a blog and make money?

I think that blogging is an ideal job, because you can do it in your free time + you can run a blog from everywhere, adjusting it to your lifestyle.

According to an average blogger income report, there are different sources bloggers receive income on the Internet in 2020. While blogging, for example, the authors can earn on:

• Affiliate marketing – this is the largest part of my online income from travel blog.
• Products: Courses / E-books / Presets – in my case, this is the Philippines Guidebook, Photo Presets PRO’19
• Visual advertising – when running a blog, you can use ads from Google, as well as ad networks Adthrive, Mediavine, Media (I do not use it at the moment)
• Affiliate Marketing Course (I’m working on it now)
• Sponsored Posts (I don’t post at the moment)

Blog Income Statistics

January 2020 was a good month for my blogs – TravelBlogStories.com and Otdyhsamostoyatelno.ru (Russian version of the blog). I received $1,560 as a passive online income, which consisted of

• 90% — affiliate income
• 10% — income from the sale of the guidebook and photo presets

Airbnb: $53 (I don’t take it into account, because I can use it only for my Airbnb reservations)

Together with our friends we went to Austria to ski, visited 5 countries in Europe and traveled more than 4,000 km by car – it was a really exciting month.

How Much Money Do Bloggers Make?

If you are a beginner blogger, after 1 year of hard-working on the blog, you can earn extra $500-$2000 per month. After you can significantly increase the monthly income from the blog, provided that you will be constantly in the subject of everything that happens in the “earnings on the blog.” Glassdoor says that the blogger’s average income is over $32,800 per year, based on anonymously provided blogger income reports.

More and more people read blogs, and this is a really perspective niche for making money on the Internet.

How to Make Money on a Blog

How much money you can earn on a blog depends on the amount of traffic you receive and how large the list of emails of your subscribers is.

You can start making real money on the Internet during your first year of blogging.

A great advantage is that you can write blog posts on your laptop, wherever you are. No matter what your blog is dedicated to, although it takes time, blogging = freedom.

Some bloggers who make a lot of money online actually have a fairly small audience – but they know their audience well and know what their subscribers need. All professional bloggers measure the ratio of traffic, page views and conversion (product purchases). This must be done because it gives an understanding of where you are moving with blogging.

My Plans and Goals For My Business

Plans and goals can help you run a successful business. I have a lot of plans for 2020, and I have a great list-to-do.

Below are some of the areas I am currently working on:

• Cooperation with bloggers and media
• Traveling to new places
• Creating a high-quality funnel. I want to create a high-quality funnel where I will also give valuable information to my subscribers.
• I adore affiliate income, of course. The main aspect you can enjoy it too is due to how passive affiliate income can be. It makes your life much more enjoyable when you know you can bring in an income while having fun, meeting with friends, traveling to new destinations and etc.
• Writing more useful blog articles

I connect most of the success of my blog in 2019 with 1 specific action:

I have done my best to improve and expand the Email Newsletters of the blog.

Social networks are a good way to grow a website, but the list of emails of subscribers is more useful because it belongs ONLY TO YOU!

I highly recommend spending time enlarging your email list, as this is YOUR list and it isn’t affected by any algorithms or anything like that.

I made the first newsletter about a year after I started my blog using the Getresponse. Now I have over 1000 email subscribers. Getresponse is quite simple and easy to use! But if something is not clear to you – ask us and you will quickly get an answer to your question.

One of my main mistakes blogging was that I did not immediately start collecting the email list. If you still do not have it, you should begin as soon as possible! An email list is important for monetizing a blog and generating additional income on the network.

What Am I Working on Now?

Here are some things of what I plan on doing to grow Travel Blog Stories include:

• Getting more media backlinks. I am going to study information on how to get more high-quality backlinks.
• SEO focus. All the time I read up-to-date information on how to write and promote my content in order to be in the top of search engine results. I started getting traffic from SEO, and I think that this area should be the main way to further developing of my blog.
• Having learned about Pinterest, I would like to use this social network to increase traffic. You should also use Pinterest to enlarge the list of email addresses.
• Newsletters development. Now I have several newsletters. With new content, the number of newsletters will grow, this will give me new readers and more subscribers.

The month was good in different areas – in the blog and in everyday life. Things are going well, I have a lot of ideas for the current year. I really enjoy blogging.

Can Beginners Quickly Learn Blogging And Make Money Online?

I often hear the question – Is it easy to become a blogger and start earning money online fast?

Almost everyone who starts a blog is a newbie. There is no specific blogging training scheme.

Blogging is an educational process.

If it was easy, then everyone could be a successful blogger.

But making money blogging is a hard work, that requires discipline, long hours, extensive training, and much more.

At some moment, almost every blogger feels that he can’t bear it anymore. By the way, especially at the very beginning when starting a blog, a lot of questions usually arise, because of no personal knowledge and nobody to ask them. In such cases, go to Google search + themed forums, where you can ask your question and get answers to them.

If in the past companies chose mainly celebrities for advertising, now they are switching to bloggers and other famous influencers (Youtube, Instagram, Tiktok), thereby increasing their earnings.

The online world is growing. Each blogger (regardless of his niche) earns on the Internet in his own way, doing something different to generate income. Today there are many ways to make money blogging, and I think in the future there will be even more of them.

How Many Blogs in 2020? How Many Bloggers Earn Blogging?

Today, there are more than 600 million blogs from 1.7 billion websites in the world. Their authors daily post more than 2 million blog posts.

Here is what is known for today:

• Blogs are about a third part of all the web sites
• Tumblr supports the vast majority of blogs – about 440 million, this is the largest and definitely one of the best blog platforms
• The most popular platform of CMS is WordPress, with its popularity and wide distribution, it is the second one with 60 million blogs
• Other CMS tools give a total of 2.5 million blogs

Bloggers Income

Despite the great opportunities, according to an average blogger income report, there are few people who profit from blogging – less than 10% of all bloggers receive any kind of income. Let’s try to determine the total number of websites. Live counter developed by Internet Live Stats, shows the number of websites online.

We can say with confidence that now there are more than 600 million blogs, which is one-third of all the websites in the world.

Moreover, Tumblr’s main competitor, Blogger, does not publish any data, so their web pages are not included in the final statistics.

My Blogging Plans and Goals

I have a lot of plans for blog development right now – this is a good “problem”. Plans and goals help the author maintain a successful blog. I believe that working towards a goal can help maintain a person’s motivation.

Below are some of the areas I’m currently working on:

1. Making a clear plan of posts for 3 months in advance. There is often so much material that you do not always understand what it is worth posting at first. But when you have a clear understanding of the sequence and the material is already written, it makes life a lot easier and more enjoyable.
2. Spending on blogging a certain number of hours per day. There are days when I spend all day and night on my laptop. So I would like to continue to work to improve the balance between work and personal life.
3. Not to forget about real life. I’d like to keep a balance between online and off-blog life. Sometimes it’s hard to break away and spend more time offline.
4. I would like to read more materials that have nothing to do with trying to learn something.
5. To have fun. It’s good that this is not a goal that can be measured somehow.

Here are some of the areas I’m working on to increase my affiliate earnings:

1. SEO – I hope to raise affiliate income by increasing my traffic through SEO, as well as through Pinterest.
2. User behavior – I analyze the behavior of the audience in the blog posts with affiliate links to see how they can be improved in the future.
3. New products – I am searching for new affiliate products to promote for the benefit of my audience.
